Kids in the Arts & Smarts program have been painting, designing sets for a stop-motion video, starting the spring semester of Art & Company designs, reading with volunteers, and finishing their fabric body puppets.
Yesterday they had a visit from a special guest: a professional chef who taught them how to make chocolate chip and Butterfinger pancakes. A comment overheard during snack time: “Pancake, you’re the best pancake ever.” Maybe the kids will share the recipe with Patchwork’s Pancake Breakfast planners!
Tutoring has started with as much demand for the activity as ever. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough tutors to meet the demand. If you’re interested and available after school, call Patchwork (424-2735) and talk to Dixie, our Tutoring Coordinator.
In other Patchwork news, our annual Soup, Salad, and Style Luncheon is coming up on February 28 from noon to 1:30 at Patchwork. This year’s theme is a Taste of Greece, and guests will enjoy a lunch prepared by Jessica Jones and sponsored by The Fresh Market. They will also enjoy a show of spring fashions from Wildflower and will receive a piece of art by Patchwork artists.
Reservations can be made by sending $40 per person or $300 for a table of eight to Patchwork (100 Washington Ave., Evansville, IN 47713). All tickets are $50 if paid for at the door.
